SmartFibre/AFP The booth focussed on capability to deliver a wide range of fibre solutions from mini HDMI 'match boxes' to 'throw down' cases for mobile use to the infamous rack systems with network monitoring. A highlight for many was the modular fibre patch panel with up to 24 normalised patch connections. The secure RJ cable locking devices won universal praise as they 'lock in' preventing unauthorised removal of patch cables on Cat 6 patch panels.

Bon The high quality alternative to the ‘big brands’ and used by SKY, BBC, ITV, etc in the UK, the latest addition to the large range of picture monitors were very well received. The low cost BSM-I series are targeted very budget conscious users whilst the BSM-3G series have the same feature rich facilities but have high quality LCD panels for for production, post production and broadcast. The Airwaves HD wireless systems remains the best for directors and producers.
Cinedeck Leaders in tapeless workflow demonstrates new, enhanced functionality for both the dual channel RX and four channel MX recorders. Basic editing of files is now on the way too. Resilient on set shared storage solutions and streamlined integration with Avid demonstrated the versatility of Cinedeck 'decks.
Gefei New boys on the block Gra-vue, formally Gefei, accelerated their aspirations towards leadership of the multiviewer systems market with 4 channel boxes to 128 channel rack mount systems. Their modular 'seemless' video monitor wall is innovative and fresh thinking, setting new standards for low cost multi channel monitoring. Audio monitors, video/audio delay, quad splits and typical modular digital glue products deal with everyday systems with a very useful 'clip store' on a card standing out for store and forward programmes.
Masterclock Typically, the Masters of clock and time systems, came up with new products. In addition to the continually growing and expansive displays in every shape and colour, there are new combined time and (programmable) alphanumeric displays. Masterclock has the heritage and pedigree that make them the global leader in clock and time systems.
Penta The Bavarian ‘kings’ of reference monitors, Penta, had new, innovative widescreen panoramic displays and well as 3 new 17.3” full resolution camera racking monitors - all, of course, conforming to world class REC709 colour standards. The new DCS software calibration tools make life easier and display EBU/SMPTE Grade 1 parameters and each monitors precise calibration - no 'smoke and mirrors', unlike some monitor manufacturers who purport to have reference monitors. These are the 'Ronseal' monitors of eth industry - they do what they say they do! Penta continue to set the standards for others to follow and, they’re very affordable too!
